The beginning of the new year means as a music lover who enjoys being on top of trend forecasting, it was time to research and make bets. I once again stumbled upon a song that gained serious traction this summer and I realized all over again that 2015 is going to be the year Ryn Weaver dominates the pop scene. Her song “Octahate” is worth every moment of hype.

“Octahate” was released in June to Weaver’s Soundcloud and in a matter of a few hours overnight the song went viral amongst music fans. Soon, I think the song is about to go mainstream and launch her career. When Weaver drops her first full length debut EP in early 2015, I’m certain that “Octahate” is going to get massive airplay as a single. Weaver falls in line with the electro-pop scene that’s been all the rage lately – think Grimes, Tove Lo, etc.
With a power team of Benny Blanco , Cashmere Cat, Charli XCX, and Passion Pit frontman Michael Angelakos behind “Octahate” it’s no surprise that the song turned a virtual nobody into somebody poised to takeover the charts. It’s catchy and worth turning up loud in the car. A song that is a synth filled dream full of breezy finger snapping percussion and glimmering vocals that demand attention I’m sure you’ll love it too.
Ryn Weaver is here everyone. 2015 is going to be her year. All she needs to do is drop her album and it’s game, set, win for the emerging popstar.
Who do you think is going to be big in 2015? I’ve got a few bets, but I want to hear yours!
P.S. – Check out another electro pop rec I did in the Tune Up on Little Daylight – who loved my praise so much they retweeted my post out to all their Twitter followers!
Until next time,
