I’ve mentioned lately that I have been struggling a bit with life. Not in a down and out way necessarily, but certain situations have popped up and left me pondering pretty much everything. Do I even exist? Okay, maybe not quite that existential but anything from family to career to home have all been up in the air. All the big questions mean I’ve been very reflective.
Of course as with almost everything in my life, my go-to solution is music. What. A. Shocker. Yes, I am one of those people and have a Feelin’ Reflective Playlist to whip out when there’s a necessity. Lately it has been on at least once a day and if we’re being completely honest, it’s been played more often than not. The big times it’s played are during writing and yoga, but I’ve even been listening to this playlist while in the shower – because is there any better place to ponder?
The playlist is full of moody indie rock and folk. There’s just something about banjos and harmonicas that scream reflection. Even if you aren’t in the mood for questioning everything, it’s a calming playlist that is full of easy listening. I’m also totally a lyrics person as Peyton Sawyer would typecast me, so many of these songs have wonderfully written lines in the songs as well. Win, win.
What is your go to artist or song for when you’re feeling reflective?
P.S. – The only time I haven’t been listening to the Feelin’ Reflective Playlist, I’ve been jamming out to 1DAF, go figure.
Until next time,
